In 2022, there are a lot of changes that are taking place on a national level that could have a dramatic effect on employers. The items listed below is the third of a three-part series that every employer should be aware of.

Based upon the list below and the subsequent lists to follow, employers should evaluate their policies and procedures in order to ensure that they are compliant with State and Federal law.

Privacy Surveillance – some States require written notice to newly hire employees, informing them that certain types of electronic monitoring that may occur and requires employers to post the notice
Hiring Discrimination and Drug Testing – prohibits employers from requiring prospective employees to undergo testing for the presence of marijuana as a condition of employment
Noncompete Agreement increases in the noncompete enforceability threshold to account for inflation using the consumer price index

Employers must be aware of the changes on a local, State and National level and policies and procedures must be reviewed and revised accordingly.
