The most effective way to get more Google reviews in 2026

Are you trying to attract new patients to your practice? Want to look more established on Google? You’re in luck! I’ll share a highly effective method that successful dental practices use to gain new patients.

Among the signals Google checks for local rankings, Google reviews are the most powerful and easiest to control. Review volume, average rating, and recency all help improve local ranking.

Review volume is important as it shows trust at scale. A practice with 218 reviews has clearly served many patients who shared their experiences. Google sees this as a sign of a legitimate, established practice. In contrast, a practice with just 12 reviews, even if all are 5 stars, can’t compete with one that has 200 reviews for top local spots.

Here’s a simple way to gather more reviews for your Google Business Profile (GBP):

  1. Go to your Google Business Profile, click on Share, and copy the link.
  2.
  3. Search for QR generator on Google. You’ll find several options. Choose one, paste the link you copied, then generate and download the QR code.
  4.
  5. Print the QR code and place it on your front desk.
  6.
  7. After each appointment, have your front desk use this script: "Thanks for visiting us today! We hope your appointment went well. If you have a moment, sharing your experience helps other {{city}} patients find us: [scan QR code]."

This method helped a practice we worked with rise to #2 on Google Maps. In just 2 months, they moved from the last page with 0 reviews to the first page with 114 reviews, attracting 18 new patients.

A small change like this can quickly increase your patient reviews. However, keep in mind it’s only one of many factors Google considers. Other key elements include your business information, descriptions, services, photos, and Q&A. All these contribute to your ranking and influence patient choices.

If you want to rank high on your local map and need an optimised GBP with a QR code, comment “GBP.” I’ll send it to you for free!
