The weakest part of a needle is?

The weakest part of a needle is?

(A). Bevel
(B).Shaft
(C). Hub
(D). Cartridge penetrating end

The needle is composed of:

  • Bevel: slanted portion at the tip of the needle.
  • Shaft: tubular metal from the tip of the needle to the hub.
  • Cartridge penetrating end: other end of the needle that extends into the diaphragm of the cartridge.
  • Hub: plastic or metal part that attaches the needle to the syringe.

The hub is the weakest part of the needle, and therefore most needle breakages occur at this point. To prevent such incidents, never insert the needle all the way to the hub.

Answer: (C). Hub
