Dental Marketing During Covid

Dental Marketing During Covid

My post today started as a response in the marketing forum in a thread about Covid and the use of badges in dental marketing messaging. I shared my experience there but will elaborate a bit more on the subject here.

For the benefit of all townies, some of which are likely struggling a bit through these times, I'd like to share an experience we have had while using a COVID related badge on the site.

I agree that the Covid Safety Guarantee badge that the OP shared here (image below) is junk and all risk.

However, the Certified Covid-19 Clean badge I shared in that same post works like a charm and is NOT turning people away. Quite the opposite has happened.

Here is how we placed it on the site, right next to an excerpt for a "Covid memo" and above a video we had made (shared below) :

This above mixed content (Covid related video, memo & badges) has worked much better than the standard notice bar at the top of the page which most dentists used on their sites at that time to share what they're doing about covid. You may consider enhancing the Covid messaging on your site and in your practice to be more than a little info bar or worse, a popup <---don't do this! Popups are insane and kill Google rankings, especially for phones but that's another topic. On top of this he bought a Surgically Clean Air unit that also has a badge on the site and everyone is told about.

There were many factors involved for August to be his busiest month ever. He hired a young talented oral surgeon so has increased capacity and we doubled his Google Ads budget at the beginning of Aug but the badge that he is using is obviously not turning people off. Some people are scared to hell of this virus. If you don't have content like this, in my opinion, you're losing new patients to competitors right now and should create this kind of content that puts those people at ease. Staff also requires everyone pay online in advance and it's mandatory to register online and fill out all paperwork digitally. Clipboard time has been obliterated. No waiting room.

2020 has tweaked the user journey a bit and the intent of new patients searching for a dentist and added a new concern that you should likely address. It's no longer just "who's gonna touch me?" and "how much is this going to cost?", its now also "Is it safe?, Are they clean?"
