Marketing a dental practice online is a proficient way to bring in more customers if done correctly. Success with online marketing requires understanding how content reaches potential customers and understanding what content that they would like to see.

1.     Use infographics to explain the importance of cancer screenings: Using infographics to get a message across about the importance of oral cancer screening can open the eyes of potential patients who might otherwise be unaware of the risks. An infographic lays out the information in an easy to understand way that draws people in and makes them inquisitive to learn more. Bright, colorful infographics are attractive to see and are an easy way to display a lot of information quickly.

2.     Create videos on the subject: Another way to display important information to potential patients is via a YouTube video. Not all customers are easily captivated by text articles and are instead more interested in viewing information in video form. Linking YouTube videos to a dental practice’s website can bring in more customers because they have access to information on multiple platforms. YouTube videos can be especially potent for oral cancer screenings because the process can be demonstrated to potential customers.

3.     Use a variety of social media: Social media are important tools used in online marketing because they can reach a wide audience and be used to reach an abundance of individuals within the community. Posting on a regular basis to social media can be a great way to educate future patients on the importance of oral cancer screenings. Social media campaigns are one of the most common ways of online marketing to increase customer basis because it’s free and effective to use.

4.     Utilize Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Search engine optimization is the technique of using keywords in headlines and posts so that patients can find them when searching through Google. Using keywords that relate to the specific dental practice, such as oral cancer, screening, dental and the location of the office can help to bring in customers who are looking for the specific treatments that your office offers.

5.     Make the online posts localized: Adding a location to infographics, YouTube videos, social media and articles can help to add a local appeal to your dental business. Including location is important, otherwise the posting may not reach the intended audience of the people who live in the area. Localization can also be used through google to allow the search results to be precise for those looking for oral cancer screening in their area.

6.     Create a thorough and visually appealing website: Having an attractive website is a necessity in bringing in new customers. If the website of a dental practice looks unprofessional and does not run correctly, patients may interpret that the entirety of the practice is not the best. Hiring a web designer to personalize a website and make it look the best it can possibly look is a necessity in proper online marketing. The website is where all potential patients will look to discover more information about oral cancer screening and how to get an appointment within the business.

7.     Use advertisement wisely: Advertisements have become so personalized that they can be shown directly to the audience you desire -- those who live in the community. Selecting and creating ads that are clear and concise is necessary in making it clear what type of dental services are being offered and where they can be received. Electing to advertise can cost some money, but in the long run will bring in more patients and more revenue.
