Really. I hate the word "Compliance."
It kind of makes me feel like I am giving up a part of myself. It makes
me feel like Captain Picard staring out his ship's screen looking at
this overwhelming monster-The Borg, demanding submission. Maybe I am
just a nerd like that? Does compliance irk you too?
WARNING: The Following content is very NERDY....BUT very Good!
"We are the Borg. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile."
I
have had calls with plenty of Dentists who feel frustrated, terrified
and downright angry that they have to jump through so many hoops just to
stay in business. They are right...There 10-15 state and federal
agencies over the Dental Practice, depending on where and what you
practice. It can be overwhelming and life-draining. The fines keep
increasing and enforcement keeps growing. You see like the Borg, the
government has to "feed" to sustain itself.
Now
that you are thoroughly irked, let me give you a little relief. Living
in fear and frustration is no way to go. It is no kind of life, and
certainly doesn't improve your situation.
I
found that there is relief. There is a way to WIN the game. And the WIN
is simple. I didn't say easy....I said simple. Captain Picard had to
struggle to defeat the Borg. Do you want to know the SIMPLE answer to
your compliance Pain?
Here
it is: Change the way you are thinking. Captain Picard was able to
escape the Borg, by changing his thinking. You can escape the Borg of
Compliance by changing your thinking too.
Dr.
Wayne Dyer said, "When you change THE WAY you look at things, THE
THINGS you look at CHANGE." Scientists call it the "Observer Effect."
When you clear the emotions of fear and anger out, the way becomes clear
and path simple.
Compliance
becomes part of a game you have a chance to win. If you don't play the
game by the rules, eventually you will be caught, and if you think you
are frustrated and angry now, well....just imagine the day the Feds rain
down on you with a HIPAA fine of $1.5 million. Or the Insurance Company
sends you a recoupment letter for $185,000. Or Medicaid puts you on a
payment hold attached to a recoupment letter for $2.4 million. (These
are all true examples we have seen in the last 2 years).
So,
change you thinking and figure out a way to win at their own game. Get
your house in order and put in new policies and procedures. Being angry
and resistant will only hurt you and your family. Change the way you are
thinking and you gain control again. You become a stronger business
person and your practice becomes better protected. You then have shields
that are strong enough to pull you out of the powerful draw of the
Borg.
Take
30 minutes and talk to me about your Borg and I will try to show you
the path of least resistance! I love talking with Dentists and their
staff!
