How to Get Patients Interested in Cosmetic Dentistry Services

As people head back to the dentist's office and resume normal preventive care as well as
restorative care, it can also provide an opportunity to begin the conversation around cosmetic
dentistry. Knowing how to approach this conversation with your patients can help them get
interested in the cosmetic dentistry services that you offer at your practice.

From the office of Dr. Eliot Heisler and the staff at Elite Dental Spa, here are some ways to get
patients interested in cosmetic dentistry services.

Have a Visual Guide: Have before and after pictures on your website that people can see, as
well as physical photos at the office that you can show to patients. Before and after pictures
allow the patient to visualize potential changes in their smile.

Provide a Smile Survey: As part of a patient’s follow up hygiene visits or after any restorative
work, it is a good idea to check in with patients with a survey that they can fill out that will allow
them to express what concerns they have with their smile. Use this opportunity to engage with
the patient to find out what it is that they would like to change or improve about their smile.

Bridge the gap between restorative and cosmetic dentistry. A dental crown procedure can be a
great restorative service, but it can also provide aesthetic benefits. It’s important to show the
patient how it can benefit their smile.

Allow for a range of options for a patient. Become their go-to guide for any dental questions
that they may have. From dental bonding to veneers and dental crowns, there is a myriad of
choices available to patients. Being able to effectively answer a patient's questions when it comes
to restorative treatment will make it more likely that they will approach you with questions
regarding cosmetic treatment. Help them explore the possibilities. Giving the patient all of the
information can help put the decision in their hands.

Making yourself a great resource and a source of knowledge to answer any questions that a
patient may have will make you the first person they contact if they are considering cosmetic
dentistry.
