they are frustrated because the other DDS with the CBCT who couldn't take a real pan submitted to the insurance company a pseudo pan (which is another topic on it's own) and now the patient can't get coverage for the true pan that the other DDS needs. New DDS now eats the pan so they can get the image

I finally got my CBCT installed and of course I wasn't expecting any insurance reimbursement for scans. I talked to an office manager at a different office and she reports that Metlife and Cigna are now reimbursing for 0367 and 0380 at a pretty good rate. Anyone else seeing this?

intraoral BWs will be around for awhile still. The companies talk up their pano BWs but I have yet to see any that look at all comparable to intraoral. Also, some insurance companies are catching on and not appreciating being billed for BWs when only a pano was taken. This is off of our XG3D

If you participate in PPO, I believe you still need to submit to insurance. Right now I've only seen MetLife pay somewhat consistently (65% coverage).

The 3D rendered view and virtually planning the case with the patient is powerful. A current CBCT unit will also allow a smaller higher resolution FOV that is ideal for endo. Buy the CBCT.
