The American Association of Endodontists appointed Hank Schiffman, D.D.S., of New York City to its Board of Directors during the 2005 Interim Board Meeting in Philadelphia. Dr. Schiffman replaces Joseph P. McMenamin, D.M.D., of Binghamton, N.Y., as director for AAE District II, which is comprised of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island.
A member of the Association since 1979, Dr. Schiffman is a practicing endodontist in Manhattan and also serves as the president of the New York State Association of Endodontists (NYSAE).
“It has been my pleasure to work with Dr. Schiffman on Association activities,” said AAE President Marc Balson, D.D.S., of Livingston, N.J. “He has been a great leader in the New York state endodontic community and I am excited about what he will bring to the AAE’s Board of Directors.”
Before entering into his current private practice, Dr. Schiffman was a clinical assistant professor of endodontics at New York University from 1986-1991. Dr. Schiffman received his D.D.S. in 1975 from New York University and his certificate in endodontics in 1981 through a fellowship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York.
In addition to his involvement with the AAE and NYSAE, Dr. Schiffman is an avid cyclist and marathon runner. He is a member of the New York Cycle Club, Adirondack Forty-Sixers, Adirondack Mountain Club, Appalachian Mountain Club, New York Road Runners and Greater New York Racing Team. He and his wife, Georgia, reside in New York, N.Y.
