CHARLOTTE, N.C.— Instrumentarium Dental, a member of KaVo Kerr Group and the Danaher dental platform, was awarded a Bronze prize in the 2015 Danaher Innovation Recognition Awards for its OP300 Maxio.

Danaher is a global science and technology innovator committed to helping customers solve complex challenges and improving quality of life around the world. Its family of world-class brands has an unparalleled leadership position in some of the world's most demanding industries.

The Danaher Innovation Recognition process was created to recognize and celebrate individuals and teams who bring innovation to life by contributing to the company’s most recent and important new products, services and business models that have moved from concept to commercial success.

A selection committee comprised of five people representing each of the Danaher business groups used rigorous evaluation criteria—including risk assessment, strategic assessment, process excellence, commercial success and speed—to narrow down the field of candidates.

“Across the board, the Danaher family brings unparalleled excellence to the table. Every brand within the dental platform is better for the knowledge we are able to share between operating companies,” said Pankaj Jaggi, director of marketing, KaVo Kerr Group Imaging, North America. “The Instrumentarium Dental team is honored to be recognized in such outstanding company, and will use this recognition as additional motivation for serving our market with distinction.”

One of four KaVo Kerr Group nominations, the OP300 Maxio, was received a Bronze award. Project highlights include:

A number of exciting features, including extended imaging areas, the option to reduce radiation dose, and patient-specific imaging parameters substantially increasing the efficiency and versatility of OP300 Maxio system.

Utilization of SDR process enabled the introduction of OP300 Maxio directly to the main production line, gaining almost 40% share from all OP300 system sales during its first year.

Representing a much larger multicultural, cross-functional team, Instrumentarium Dental associates Martti Kalke, Päivi Linteri and Markus Rintamäki were on-hand to accept the award during the Danaher Conference of Innovation (DCI), held Sept. 9-11, 2015, at the Molecular Devices headquarters in Sunnyvale, Calif. DCI 2015 brought together technology leaders from across Danaher operating companies to share best practices and spotlight customer-focused innovation for growth.
