Carestream Dental’s CS 3000 Receives Approval For 3M ESPE Lava Ultimate Restorative

ATLANTA – Carestream Dental today announced that its CS 3000 milling machine has earned approval from 3M ESPE to work with the company’s Lava Ultimate Restorative, a resin nano ceramic material. Officially launched as part of the CS Solutions CAD/CAM restoration portfolio at the 2013 American Dental Association Annual Session, the CS 3000 enables practitioners to mill aesthetic, anatomically accurate restorations in a single appointment.

The CS 3000 is a Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) tool featuring a 4-axis brushless motor that produces high-quality restorations with ± 25 μm accuracy. The system’s compact design and quiet, vibration-free milling allow practitioners to use the machine anywhere, even chairside. Additionally, the CS 3000’s sturdy construction provides high torsion-resistance with minimum deviation for precise milling, even after years of use. The average milling time for a crown is less than 15 minutes.

With Lava Ultimate Restorative, patients experience a tooth-like bite feel with less wear to the opposing dentition than with glass ceramics. Should the underlying dentition need additional treatment or repair, the material can be easily modified to achieve a real tooth structure. The resin nano ceramic material is designed for long-term durability and backed by a 10-year warranty. This makes Lava Ultimate Restorative an ideal option for efficiently treating inlay, onlay and posterior crown cases.
