The Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting -- one of the nation’s leading dental meetings and most comprehensive sources of continuing education in dentistry – expects more than 24,000 dental professionals to attend the meeting held on March 17-19, 2005 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. With approximately 63 dentists and dental experts speaking during the meeting and more than 900 technical exhibits, the 2005 program will focus on taking today’s dental practice to the next level. “The 93rd Hinman Dental Meeting promises to be one of the best meetings ever, delivering a program designed to appeal to every member of the dental team interested in expanding his or her skills and practice capabilities,” said Dr. Paul G. Isler, general chairman of the 2005 Meeting. “Hinman has carefully selected some of dentistry’s leading experts to share their knowledge of the latest procedures, products, equipment and management techniques necessary for a successful dental practice today.”
Hinman’s 2005 Continuing Education Program will feature approximately 63 nationally renowned clinicians and leaders in the field of dentistry, two new course formats, expanded specialty courses and more than 40 participation courses – the largest number ever offered at Hinman.
“Based on valuable feedback from last year’s meeting, Hinman is introducing two new course formats designed to optimize CE credits and course content and enable professionals to spend more time on the exhibit floor,” added Dr. Isler. This year’s program highlights include:
• A new seminar series, featuring 75-minute courses that enable participants to attend more courses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and/or spend more time on the exhibit floor.
• A new “town hall” course format, featuring three-hour lectures that include an in-depth look at a single topic by three different speakers.
• Expanded laboratory technician courses – all of which are free of charge.
• More than 160 lectures and courses provided by the country’s leading dental experts.
• More than 60 auxiliary courses and programs.
• ADAA assistants’ courses with product demonstrations all three days.
In addition to a comprehensive continuing education program, Hinman will feature more than 900 technical exhibits -- located conveniently in one hall and on one level. This space will allow more than 400 companies to showcase new equipment, products and services for the entire dental staff. The exhibit hall is open to all attendees with badges.
This year’s meeting highlights also include:
• Expanded exhibit hall hours, providing more time for dental professionals to spend on the floor.
• Easier access to the Georgia World Congress Center and new hotel facilities adjacent to the conference center.
• Hinman’s two signature events – the Dentist Reception and Auxiliary Reception.
• A wide selection of social events, including a Newnan homes tour, wine seminar and tasting, Atlanta Apparel Mart shopping, a Roswell art tour and VIP tours of CNN.
As a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the dental profession, the Hinman Dental Society will present scholarships and gifts totaling more than $250,000 to dental, hygiene, laboratory technician and dental assisting students at 43 colleges and universities, as well as dental education groups and clinics. As in years past, the scholarships will be presented at the Scholars’ Luncheon held on Saturday during the meeting.
