The ADEA/Alpha Omega Foundation/Leonard Abrams Scholar receives an award in the amount of $20,000 that enables her to participate in the ADEA Leadership Institute, a year-long program designed to develop the nation's most promising dental faculty to become leaders in dental and higher education.
"The leadership and dedication that Dr. Graham has shown in her efforts to provide interdisciplinary opportunities for her students, and support to her fellow faculty members, is truly impressive," says ADEAPresident Gerald N. Glickman, DDS, MS, MBA, JD. "With the collaboration of ADEA and the Alpha Omega Foundation, she will have the opportunity to build upon her clear talents."
Dr. Graham is Assistant Professor of Clinical Dental Medicine in the Division of Operative Dentistry at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to assisting new educators and mentoring dental students who aspire to academic careers.
The scholarship is named in honor of the late Dr. Leonard Abrams, an internationally recognized educator and researcher in periodontology and prosthodontics. It recognizes an individual who exhibits excellence in teaching and compassion toward his fellow human beings, and upholds exemplary ethical and professional standards.
