St. Paul, MN, October 5, 2012 —–Addressing the unique workspace challenges dental
radiographic technicians face when dividing their attention between patients, imaging equipment
and computers, Ergotron, Inc. will present ergonomic and wellness tips to the attendees of at
the 34th Annual Fall convention for the American Association of Dental Maxillofacial
Radiographic Technicians (AADRMT), October 5 and 6 in Minneapolis.
Geared specifically to needs of AADRMT members, the hour-long presentation by Carrie
Schmitz, manager technical publications and ergonomic research, and Wendy McCubbin, sr.
marketing manager, workspace wellness from Ergotron, will discuss ergonomic and wellness
concerns prevalent within the dental office.
“Ergonomic research shows that an individual’s physical and emotional well-being is enhanced
when environments are personally controllable and predictable,” said Schmitz. “Empowering
technicians to make these choices for themselves can improve their outlook and patient
interaction.”
Ergotron has been conducting a case study at Craniofacial Imaging in Minneapolis, since June,
2012, outfitting several technician work areas with sit-stand workstations. The goal of the year-
long study is to gather information about what comfort and productivity gains could be achieved
by staff constrained by factors common in their field.
