Excite DSC is a new dual-curing, single-component adhesive from Ivoclar Vivadent. In contrast to existing systems in which several liquids have to be mixed or applied in sequence, Excite DSC consists of only one component which is applied in a single layer. Excite DSC is based on the clinically proven Excite single-component adhesive system. Excite DSC is supplied in Soft Touch™, single-dose cartridges with a pre-mounted application brush. This application brush is coated with the initiators necessary for activating the dual-curing feature. Upon activation of the single-dose cartridge, the initiators are mixed with the adhesive liquid thus providing it with the dual-curing characteristics. The application of Excite DSC is very easy and saves time. After conditioning the tooth structure, Excite DSC is applied in one layer. The material is agitated onto the dentin for 10 seconds and the solvent dispersed with a gentle stream of air.
In contrast to many other dual-curing adhesives, light-curing is possible but not required. In this way, the accuracy of fit upon the incorporation of indirect restorations can be ensured, providing the dentist with additional security.
Excite DSC is recommended in conjunction with dual-curing composite cements (Variolink® II, Appeal™) for the adhesive cementation of indirect all-ceramic and composite restorations. Moreover, Excite DSC may also be used in combination with dual-curing or self-curing core build up materials (Multicore®). Excite DSC is distinguished for its wide range of indications, quick and easy application, as well as its hygienic and ergonomic delivery form.
