WATERTOWN, MA: September 1, 2004 - Pulpdent Corporation’s Embrace™ WetBond™ Pit and Fissure Sealant has been awarded the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance. The ADA Seal of Acceptance, recognized industry wide, indicates to both the dental profession and the public that the claims for safety and usefulness of the product are valid. Unlike traditional sealants, Embrace bonds chemically and micromechanically to the moist tooth, integrating with the tooth structure to create a strong, margin-free bond that virtually eliminates microleakage. This is the first pit and fissure sealant resin that can be applied in a moist field.Embrace WetBond Pit and Fissure Sealant is formulated from an improved dental resin that is wet bonding for easier application. It forms a unique Resin Acid-Integrating Network (R.A.I.N.) that improves penetration into pits and fissures and provides superior sealing of the margins. The product saves time and money because no bonding agents are required and it bonds in a moist field. It is tooth integrating, and after light curing, the practitioner cannot find the margin.
The ADA has awarded the ADA Seal to safe and effective dental products for over 70 years. In 1931, the first Seal of Acceptance was awarded and in 1984 President Reagan recognized the ADA Seal program’s efforts by presenting them with a certificate of commendation for their outstanding self-regulatory efforts.
Embrace WetBond Pit and Fissure Sealant is available from dental dealers in a 4 x 1.2 mL syringe kit that contains 20 applicator tips. It is fluoride-releasing and contains no Bis-GMA or Bis-Phenol A.
