All rings regardless of the manufacturer are securely held in the special tips. This eliminates rocking and/or ring ‘spring-off’ commonly experienced with traditional style rubber dam clamp forceps, greatly simplifying matrix ring placement. Extended tips are used to place the rubber dam clamp, while a special flange holds the clamp securely in the desired horizontal position. The overall height of the Universal Forceps is also less than the Ivory® style. This is particularly beneficial when placing the clamp on a 2nd or 3rd molar.
