Academy of General Dentistry: Act Now to Repeal 1099 Paperwork Requirements

HR 4 Could Be Slated for Fast-track Voting

Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.-3) has introduced HR 4, the Small Business Paperwork Mandate Elimination Act of 2011, to repeal 1099 reporting requirements that would be extremely onerous for dentists. These requirements are part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, scheduled to take effect in January 2012.
House leadership is expected to fast-track the bill, which means that there will be a time limit on any debate and that the legislation must either be passed without modification or rejected altogether, so it’s critical that Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) members act on this issue today!
Contact your members of Congress and urge them to support the repeal of the 1099 reporting requirements as contained in the Affordable Care Act.
