Kettenbach LP Partners with Las Vegas Institute
Bite Registration and Impression Materials Will Be Featured During Institute’s Core Courses

Huntington Beach, CA—July 29, 2010—Kettenbach has announced that it has become a corporate partner with the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI).

The announcement was made today by Jens Kuhn, President, Kettenbach GmbH & Co. KG. The partnership will grant LVI students access to several of Kettenbach bite registration and impression materials during its seven Core Courses.

“LVI is one of the leading post-graduate institutes in the dental industry, and Kettenbach is proud to partner with them,” Kuhn said. “Students who attend LVI courses will learn from some of the finest dental educators in the industry. In turn, they will use quality Kettenbach products during LVI’s Core Courses and teaching clinics. Both are win-win situations for the students.”

As part of the partnership, LVI students will be using Kettenbach’s Futar® and Futar® Scan bite registration materials, Silginat® alginate alternative impression material and Panasil® tray soft heavy, Panasil® initial contact x-light and Panasil® monophase medium final impression materials.

LVI’s Core Courses are as follows:
Core I Advanced Functional Dentistry—The Power of Physiologic Based Occlusion
Core II Orthotic Maintenance, Adjustment and Essential Aesthetic Reconstructive Techniques
Core III Mastering Dynamic Adhesive Principles in Complex Reconstruction Cases
Core IV Advanced Principles, Case Stabilization, and Bite Transfer in the Neuromuscular Practice
Core V Comprehensive Aesthetic Occlusal Reconstruction—Rehabilitation Begins
Core VI Coronoplasty and Case Finishing—Critical Steps for Neuromuscular Success
Core VII Full Mouth Reconstruction—Essential Tools for Finalization of Neuromuscular Rehabilitation

About LVI’s Core Courses
Students attending LVI’s Core I Course will learn how to evaluate which cases to treat and how to gain acceptance from their patients using advanced restorative dentistry.

During the Core II Course, students will participate in a hands-on, live-patient treatment program that concentrates on developing a critical eye for aesthetic excellence.

In the Core III Course, students will participate in a live-patient treatment course learning conservative restoration of posterior teeth using the latest aesthetic materials that are placed in functional harmony.

Core IV Course investigates the in-depth scientific principles of neuromuscular dentistry. This hands-on program focuses on the need to find the physiologically harmonious and comfortable orthopedic position of the mandible.

LVI’s Core V Course is a live-patient treatment program showing students how to handle more complex cases (bruxers, restoring vertical dimension, restoring severely dark teeth without subgingival margins, creating biologic pontics that appear to be growing out of tissue, etc.) by treating function as well as aesthetics.

The Core VI Course teaches students a simple and precise clinical technique for refining occlusion on natural dentition, occlusal appliances and prosthetic restorations as well as the critical and imperative subtle measures to maintain control of the occlusion and ultimately, the case.

Finally, LVI’s Core VII Course educates students to accurately diagnose complex occlusal and restorative sign and symptoms, correctly determine a patient’s vertical dimension, ensuring patient comfort. In addition, they will also learn the nuances of post-cementation treatment and the importance of micro-occlusal refinement

About Kettenbach’s Bite Registration Materials
Futar® is the original bite registration with Shore-A hardness of 90 highly thixotropic will not run into interproximal spaces, making it easier to remove from the mouth.
Futar® Scan, with a Shore-D hardness of 35, can be used with CAD/CAM systems because it is optimized for optical and laser registration respectively. Futar® Scan’s excellent optical properties guarantee high recording quality and optimal image replication.

About Kettenbach’s Alginate Alternative Material
Silginat® is a medium-bodied viscosity, polyvinyl siloxane impression material designed with a low-tear resistance to avoid dislodging restorations or orthodontic appliance inadvertently. The material also has a high dimensional stability so model impressions can be kept for weeks and poured multiple times.

About Kettenbach’s Final Impression Materials
Panasil® tray soft heavy is an addition-curing impression material. It has user- and patient-friendly setting characteristics. Highly thixotropic, the pressure builds up quickly and is easy to remove from the mouth.
Panasil® initial contact x-light has a unique initial hydrophilicity, allowing the material to immediately overcome any remaining moisture in the mouth. An exact impression of the prepared margin is assured, even in situations with a deep sulcus or a moist environment. Panasil® initial contact x-light is also highly thixotropic with outstanding flow properties.
Panasil® monophase medium is a hydrophilic medium viscosity impression material that offers significant advantages for taking transfer impressions. It has less distortion while the material is setting and retains the inner copings and frameworks firmly.
