(MDT), pioneers of the patented LANAP™ protocol for the treatment of gum disease and the manufacturer of the PerioLase® MVP-7™ digital dental laser, today announced its speaker line-up for the California Dental Association’s upcoming tradeshow—CDA Presents: Anaheim 2010. Millennium Dental Technologies, which will host booth number #1680, will highlight its presence at the event with special presentations by Drs. Raymond A. Yukna and Edwin J. Zinman addressing “Laser Periodontal Pocket Therapy Success with Nd:YAG Lasers” and “The ABCs of Informed Consent” respectively.
Dr. Yukna, a world renowned periodontist and leading researcher in bone-building techniques and technology, as well the first academic professor to conduct university-based research on MDT’s LANAP protocol for his patients, will present “Laser Periodontal Pocket Therapy Success with Nd:YAG Lasers” on Thursday, May 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. His talk will highlight various types of lasers and their applications in dentistry, with emphasis placed on periodontal pocket therapy, particularly using the free-running pulsed Nd:YAG laser. Clinical cases and human histology of laser assisted cementum mediated new attachment will be presented.
Then, on Saturday, May 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dr. Zinman, a former periodontist and current practicing attorney with a specialization in dental malpractice and personal injury will discuss “The ABCs of Informed Consent.” His session will focus on reducing legal risks and will detail the ABCs of informed consent—including alternatives, benefits and complications of periodontal therapy. Sample informed consent forms, the importance of the LANAP™ protocol peer review publications as evidence in legal settings, and other LANAP protocol legal considerations will be reviewed. Examples of recent litigation cases will be discussed as learning lessons.
Dr. Yukna’s session will take place in ACC 304 A/B and Dr. Zinman’s session will take place in ACC 205 A/B; each are available for two CE credits.
