Seiler Instrument Debuts Two New Dental Microscopes
Innovative Technology Provides Optical Intelligence for Dental Practices
(St. Louis, December 29, 2009) – Seiler Instrument announces the release of two revolutionary microscopes, the Seiler Evolution xR6 and the Seiler IQ, for the dental industry. Seiler has become a major provider of surgical and compound microscopes to the dental, ENT, OB/GYN and laboratory markets.
The Seiler Evolution xR6 is a newly redesigned, six-step microscope that offers a new standard for the dental industry, evolving the way the dental microscope performs and operates. This microscope comes equipped with the new 50-watt Metal Halide bulb, which is the brightest standard light source in the market with a bulb life of over 1,500 hours. It also features a halogen backup for uninterrupted operation.
Seiler is also introducing the Seiler iQ, which not only uses the same light source as the Evolution, but comes in a smaller package with three steps of magnification and a new design. The compact design of the iQ model allows it to function in any environment, no matter the size constraints. Both models have five different mounting options including floor, wall, high wall, ceiling and table mounts. The new microscopes also offer live video and digital camera options.
“Through direct discussions with dentists, we redeveloped and engineered these microscopes to address their current practice needs,” said Dane Carlson, division manager of Seiler Microscopes. “Our business has always been based on satisfying our customers by providing products that will improve their daily operations.”
The company was founded in 1945 by Eric H. Seiler, a master of fine optics from the Zeiss University School of Fine Optics. At that time, the company began making and repairing small microscopes and survey equipment. In 1950, the Seiler Microscope division was formed to distribute Zeiss Surgical Microscopes in North America, making them one of the first surgical microscope providers in the United States. Seiler has recently relocated and expanded its corporate headquarters to a 150,000-square foot facility in St. Louis.
