-Dental Associates Founder Leaves Proven Dental Legacy-

(DANBURY, CT) - Since Dr. William Snyder of Dental Associates of CT entered the field of dental medicine over 37 years ago he had one thing in mind – strive for excellence and never accept mediocrity.   His unique vision for making the improbable a reality has revolutionized the landscape of dentistry in Southern Connecticut.  As the co-founder of the largest multi-specialty dental practice in New England, Snyder has worked to transform an original two-person team into a staff now featuring more then 150 employees including 23 dentists and specialists in three offices.  Now, this dental leader is ready for a new phase of life when he officially retires from the profession on Dec. 27th.
“Getting big was easy, getting big and great was difficult,” reflects Snyder. “We require that every single one of our employees be caring, work to understand our patients’ needs, and do it with a level of consistency that has over time become the benchmark of quality for our practice.”
After working tirelessly as a pioneer of patient advocacy, Snyder developed Dental Associates, the first dental practice in the state of Connecticut to be accredited by the American Academy of Dental Group Practice.
Dental Associates began in Newtown when Snyder, then in practice in his native Yonkers, NY, joined forces with Dr. Lawrence Daum, an established Newtown dentist. Their goal was to learn the most sophisticated and comprehensive aspects of both dentistry and practice management.  As such, the partners spent years taking continuing education courses throughout the country, completing the demanding curriculum at The Pankey Institute of Advanced Dental Learning in Florida and receiving the prestigious degree of Fellows of the American Academy of General Dentistry.
Snyder and Daum quickly realized that the best way to provide the most comprehensive form of dental care was to offer the community top-notch specialists, including periodontists, oral surgeons, pediatric dentists, orthodontists and dentists all under one roof. Thus became the concept for Dental Associates, a business model that has proven to be so popular that the practice expanded into Danbury and New Milford locations within a few years.
Snyder believes that Dental Associates is in the best possible position for him to make his transition to retirement.  All internal systems and mentoring programs are flourishing with a 90% retention rate for new dentists in the practice.  In addition, an executive committee and practice administrator are in place to ensure that the group continues to run as a successful business. Most importantly, Snyder knows that he is leaving his patients in the able hands of his successors.
Snyder is proud at what he has accomplished in building Dental Associates, but is looking forward to an exciting next stage of his life.  “I will do what I always have done- learn new skills and become as good as I possible can at them,” he adds.  One thing you can be sure of is this Brookfield resident’s philosophy of striving for excellence will continue to serve him well in all future endeavors.
Dental Associates has been providing state of the art dental care to thousands of families for 32 years.  It is open six days a week, with expanded hours Monday through Thursday evenings until 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8-5   There is also a doctor on call 24 hours a day in case of an emergency.
