Dentrix & Delta Claims

Dentrix Dental Systems, Inc. and Delta Dental Plans of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana offer dentists the option to send electronic attachments
Posted: September 2, 2003
Dentrix Dental Systems, Inc. and Delta Dental Plans of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana today announced an agreement that will permit dental offices to send electronic attachments with claims sent within the DENTRIX practice management system.

Effective immediately, dental offices may include digital or scanned electronic attachments—x-rays, perio charts, cosmetic presentations, or other images with their claims—further expediting the electronic claims process. This is a great advantage for those offices utilizing high-tech tools to take digital x-rays, photos or create cosmetic presentations. The option to send attachments with claims eliminates delays in payment by providing all pertinent information to the payor at the initial submission of the claim. The outcome is increased efficiency for the providers and payors resulting in much quicker adjudicating and payment of claims.

“The agreement between Dentrix Dental Systems and Delta Dental Plans of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana demonstrates our dedicated efforts to connect providers and payors electronically,” said Travis Smith, Dentrix Manager of Payor Relations. “The ability to send attachments with electronic claims provides numerous benefits for the dentist and payor and is expected to significantly improve processing efficiencies for both parties. We are pleased to be a key player in offering this service to more dentists.”

Accepting electronic attachments will aid Delta Dental Plans of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana as they increase their electronic claim volume and significantly decrease the expenses associated with returning attachments to dental offices.

“This technology is a ‘win-win’ enhancement for both Delta Dental and our dental providers,” said Dr. Thomas J. Fleszar, president and CEO of the Delta Dental Plans of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. “The providers will benefit through streamlined processing, detailed submission documentation and reductions in their administrative costs.”
