Ancom has New Medicaid Prescription Pads Required by the Federal Government

(Ancom Corporate Headquarters, Brunswick, OH) – Effective October 1, 2007, H.R. 1591 (Section 6002b), requires that all prescriptions written (non-electronic format) for Medicaid patients must be on tamper-resistant prescription pads. It is up to each state to determine their particular regulations pursuant to guidelines issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Standard security features may typically include: “Void” or state seal pantographs and thermochromatic ink to prevent fraudulent duplication; borders with security features listed on the face as well as unique backprinting that appears when viewed at an angle.  Other safeguards are available for tamper-resistant prescription pads as states mandate their use.
