DETROIT—Great Expressions Dental Centers has added two new leadership team members—Adam Werder, chief marketing officer, and Norman Hartman, vice president of revenue cycle management.

Both executives will play a vital role in GEDC achieving its 2018 objectives, which include ongoing business development in existing and new markets, and improving operations and efficiency. The company saw the addition of 16 offices, including expanding into San Antonio.

“We are always looking ahead, and to continue our growth across the country, we need to have team members with the drive and expertise to help get us there,” said Greg Nodland, president of GEDC. “I am confident the vast experience that both Adam and Norman bring to GEDC will not only help us exceed our goals, but will ensure we continue to focus on what is most important to our organization—providing high-quality service to each of our patients.”

Werder, previously director of sales and marketing at Bite Tech, first worked with GEDC through their rollout of Under Armour mouth guards. He most recently served as vice president of marketing at Pet Supplies Plus. At PSP, he led the company rebrand and implemented automated marketing systems to improve operational efficiency and local marketing capabilities.  In his role, Werder will lead all aspects of patient marketing and support business development and talent recruitment. A resident of Rochester, Michigan, Werder is a graduate of Yale University.

“The Great Expressions team has built a brand and culture that resonates with patients, doctors, and team members,” said Werder. “I look forward to building upon existing efforts to inform and fuel the growth strategy.”

Hartman brings to GEDC a deep knowledge and understanding of the insurance and patient billing process and has worked in the revenue cycle field for the past nine years. At GEDC, Hartman’s role will cover all insurance and accounts receivable functions. He will focus on building systems and processes to reduce denials, increase cash collections and expedite accounts receivable. A resident of Macomb, Michigan, Hartman is a graduate of Western Michigan University.

“Too often overlooked, the billing process can have a long-lasting effect on the patient’s overall experience,” said Hartman. “Working with the strong team of professionals Great Expressions has already assembled, I hope to strengthen the process even further to ensure our patients have a seamless and enjoyable experience throughout their interactions with our organization.”
