Synopsis: This introductory segment will address straight line access, irrigation techniques and the challenge of locating hidden canals.

Educational objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to achieve the following:

  • Understand that straight-line access is critical for clinical success.
  • Recognize that access shape should mimic the outline of the tooth.
  • Realize that spending an additional five minutes on access preparation will result in a great overall savings of time (20-25 minutes) for the case.
  • Appreciate the symmetry of canal orifices that exists in mandibular molars.
  • Fully understand the application of ultrasonic use in endodontics.
  • Recognize the benefits associated with a fiberoptic in ultrasonic use.

NEW! OSHA for Dentistry and the Basic Elements of a Bloodborne Pathogen Program

Speaker:Leslie Canham, CSA, RDA

Synopsis: This course is designed to familiarize the participant with OSHA requirements and the basic elements of a bloodborne pathogen training program. OSHA requires that employers ensure all employees with occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens participate in a training program. This course may be utilized as a guideline for conducting OSHA training in your own facility. We will provide tools and resources to help you with OSHA training.

Educational objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to achieve the following:

  • Describe the basic elements of an OSHA bloodborne pathogen program.
  • Develop and present an office OSHA safety meeting.
  • Describe what forms OSHA requires.
  • Select resources for infection control and safety information.
