ATLANTA—Carestream Dental has donated a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging system to The ADA Forsyth Institute, an independent oral health research organization.

The system will be housed at the institute’s in-house clinical facility, ADA Forsyth Faculty Associates, which also hosts the ADA Forsyth Center for Clinical and Translational Research. It provides high-resolution 3D imaging to support the institute’s research initiatives.

Carestream Dental said the CBCT system supports clinical and research applications including implant dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, airway analysis, and digital workflow research. Forsyth researchers will use the technology to translate scientific findings into clinical solutions, according to the institute.

“The Forsyth Institute has always believed that meaningful innovation happens when science and industry work together,” said Dr. Ben Wu, chief scientific officer and chief operating officer of The ADA Forsyth Institute.

The organizations said the collaboration reflects a shared focus on research, education, and technology, and could open opportunities for future work together.
