DALLAS, Texas—ArtCraft Dental is highlighting TempOff, an instrument designed to simplify temporary crown removal procedures.

Developed by Dr. David Fyffe, TempOff is designed to remove temporary crowns using a four-point contact tip intended to provide a stable grip during removal. According to the company, the instrument is designed to reduce slipping and allow removal with less force compared with traditional techniques.

ArtCraft Dental said the design allows clinicians to grip the upper portion of the provisional restoration while permitting flex in the lower portion to help break cement contact. The company said the instrument is intended to improve efficiency and patient comfort during temporary crown removal procedures.

“Temporary crown removal should not be this difficult,” said Dr. Fyffe. “I created TempOff because I was frustrated with instruments that constantly slipped or failed to grip the temporary properly.”
