This course details many of the different aspects of technology that dentists should pay attention to when designing or redesigning their offices to ensure a well-planned, patient-focused, technology-driven and technology-aided practice. Topics covered include treatment room design, “future-proofing,” HIPAA compliance, security systems, sound systems, waiting room aesthetics and front office systems.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to achieve the following:

  • Understand the technology decisions that need to be made before opening an office.
  • Understand how to “future-proof” an office to open the most cost-effective practice now.
  • Understand the different types of monitor and audiovisual/TV setups available for treatment rooms and other locations.
  • Know the different types of sound and security camera options and designs available.
  • Understand how to be HIPAA compliant from Day 1.

Author Bio
Author Reuben Kamp is the CEO of Darkhorse Tech, a managed service provider IT company for dental offices. The son of a general dentist in Ithaca, New York, Kamp has been around dental since he was a baby. His company currently supports 400+ offices in 45 states and provides all services a dental office needs in support and HIPAA compliance. In addition, Darkhorse Tech was slated to complete 45 dental startup practices in 2019 alone. Kamp has been featured on podcasts like Dentistry Uncensored with Howard Farran and Delivering Dental WOW with Anissa Holmes. In addition, he travels around the country speaking at conferences and to dental groups.
