Oral Surgeon in Memphis Private Office

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Oral Surgeon to join our client's private office. The ideal candidate will have completed an oral surgery residency or be in he process of completing one. They would also consider a general dentist that has their IV sedation permit. They would focus mostly on wisdom teeth extrations initially and eventually expand to other oral surgery procedures. They would consider a surgeon part time or full time depending on preference.

They must possess extensive expertise in oral and maxillofacial procedures, with a strong focus on patient care, surgical excellence, and comprehensive treatment planning. As an Oral Surgeon, you will be responsible for performing complex surgical procedures, managing patient assessments, and collaborating with general dentists and specialists to ensure optimal oral health outcomes. Duties

  • Perform a wide range of oral surgical procedures including dental extractions, implant placements, and reconstructive surgeries with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.

  • Utilize advanced medical imaging techniques to diagnose and plan surgical interventions effectively.
  • Ensure strict infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe clinical environment compliant with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive patient education regarding procedures, post-operative care, and treatment options to foster informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with general dentists, prosthodontists, and other specialists to coordinate complex cases involving root canal therapy, prosthetic fabrication, or pediatric dentistry needs.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures while ensuring patient comfort.
  • Stay current with advancements in oral surgery techniques, medical terminology, and dental technology to continually enhance clinical skills.

Qualifications

  • Valid license or certification as an Oral Surgeon or equivalent credential recognized within the dental profession.
  • Proven experience in performing oral surgery procedures within a dental clinic or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency with dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, and medical imaging modalities relevant to oral surgery.
  • Excellent understanding of pediatric dentistry principles when working with pediatric patients requiring surgical interventions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and the use of dental fabrication tools is preferred.
  • Prior experience in general dentistry or specialty practices involving endodontics or prosthodontics is advantageous.
