Minimal Adult Sedation instruction is now available online exclusively on Dentaltown.com! This 10-part dental CE series meets all state and provincial requirements for topics and hours to apply for a minimal sedation permit or recertification. Offering a total of 19.5 CE hours, this series was specifically designed to meet the guidelines of the American Dental Association as described in the Guidelines for the Use of Sedation and General Anesthesia by Dentists.

Minimal Adult Sedation offers instruction in all aspects of adult minimal sedation to include oral sedation with and without nitrous oxide and oxygen, as well as effective methods in dealing with anxiety control in general practice. Participants will learn various techniques or “protocols” and will be provided a comprehensive review on selecting appropriate candidates, recommended equipment, and physiologic monitors, and managing medical emergencies.

The course is divided into ten modules:
Module 1:  Introduction to Minimal Sedation
Module 2:  Pharmacology 101
Module 3:  Patient Aassessment
Module 4:  Pharmacology of Oral Sedative Medications
Module 5:  Reversal Agents
Module 6:  Minimal Oral Sedation Protocols – Part 1
Module 7:  Post-operative Analgesics
Module 8:  Minimal Oral Sedation Protocols – Part 2
Module 9:  Physiologic Monitoring for Minimal Sedation
Module 10:  Recognition and Management of Medical Emergencies

Each of these individual Modules are specifically designed to meet the guidelines of the American Dental Association as described in the “Guidelines for the Use of Sedation and General Anesthesia by Dentists” from October 2016. Completion of the entire series provides at least 16 hours of didactic instruction and 20 patient experiences which meets every state and province’s requirement for a dentist to apply for a minimal sedation permit as well as those who have an license that needs renewal and wish to apply for re-certification. The lecturers offer this live as a 2 day course for $500.  By taking this series here, one does not have to take off work and travel and the cost here is only $336 and 19.5 CE credits.
