Dr. Irwin Smigel, a pioneer of aesthetic dentistry, is responsible for many a famous smile. One of his first celebrity clients was Elizabeth Taylor, in 1981. Dr. Smigel, who has his own Supersmile oral hygiene line and is the founder and chairman of the American Society of Dental Aesthetics, gives his age as “in my 70s but in no way professionally passé.” He lives on the Upper East Side with his wife, Lucia; they have two children and six grandchildren.
