Posted: August 27, 2025
Emely M. Martinez, a 35-year-old woman in Florida, was arrested for operating an illegal dental practice and placing veneers using super glue. Victims suffered pain and infections, leading to emergency dental surgery. Martinez faces charges of practising dentistry without a license and fraud. Licensed dentists typically charge $900-$1,500 per tooth for veneers, but Martinez charged $2,500 for a full set. The arrest followed a two-month investigation after victims reported complications. Cosmetic veneer procedures are growing in popularity in the US, with the dental services market projected to reach $270.57 billion by 2034.
