Enhancing Bonding Effectiveness in Direct Resin Composite Restorations: Insights from a Comprehensive Review

Posted: January 8, 2025
The systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of various adhesive systems in bonding direct resin composite restorations. It highlighted the impact of adhesive composition, application protocol, substrate type, and etching technique on bonding performance. The study found that different adhesive systems exhibited excellent tensile bond strength, with comparable results between two-step etch-and-rinse and one-step self-etch systems. Overall, the research emphasized the importance of selecting suitable adhesive systems based on clinical requirements and patient factors to enhance bonding effectiveness, durability, and long-term stability of resin composite restorations.
