Enhancing Student Confidence in Clinical Competence: Insights from Dental Education Study

The study investigates the confidence levels of dental students at Umeå University, Sweden in independently performing general dentistry tasks before and after a summer clinical internship. Results show no significant overall change in confidence except for dental extractions. Students felt least confident in managing acute dental trauma and treating cavities in young children. The study suggests further exploration to optimize clinical training and enhance student outcomes.
