Enhancing Pit & Fissure Sealant Success: Rubber Dam vs. Cotton Roll Isolation

This systematic review and meta-analysis compared the retention and marginal integrity of pit and fissure sealants using rubber dam and cotton roll isolation techniques in children. The results showed that sealant retention with rubber dam was higher after 12 months compared to cotton roll. However, both methods had equivalent marginal integrity after 12 months. This study emphasizes the importance of proper isolation techniques in ensuring successful pit and fissure sealant outcomes in pediatric dentistry.
