For the last 10 years, support from companies like Comlite Systems has been crucial to Dentaltown’s success. In celebrating our 10th anniversary, we also celebrate these companies that have consistently supported us since the beginning.
Comlite Systems has been providing light signaling systems to healthcare professionals
since 1983 and has more than 9,000 users worldwide. Headquartered in
Atlanta, Georgia, with a second location in Sun Valley, California, Comlite Systems
manufactures, markets, sells and services its industry-leading light signaling communication
systems. The System 4000 is the company’s fifth generation light signaling
system, which, along with all previous models, are serviced and supported
on a toll-free number at no charge.
The Comlite LCS4000 offers a quiet, discreet way to communicate messages
ranging from patient arrivals, important phone calls, and notification of hygiene
checks to needing an assistant or emergency situations. A unit is placed at the front
desk and in each operatory or open bay, and other areas such as private offices, staff
lounges, labs, sterilization areas and consultation rooms. All units have the same
functionality so there is no "master unit" at the front desk and all units can send
and receive messages. When light buttons representing a message are lit on one
unit, all the other units in the system light up the same way. The user labels each
button to fit their particular office by utilizing a set of adhesive labels provided with
each unit. Pressing any of the buttons one time will produce steady light, while
pressing twice will result in a blinking light. This increases the number of possible
combinations using the 15-button format. A chime is sent with each message as an
audible signal to the users. There is a volume control on each unit so the chime can
be set at a level appropriate for each location within the office. A handheld infrared
remote control is available allowing all system functions to be operated from up to
35 feet away. This helps with placement of the units because the focus can be on
where they can be easily seen and not where they can be easily touched. For offices
that need room or chair sequencing in an open bay, the system has a sequencing
function that indicates which room or chair to go to next at the press of a button.
Comlite’s LAS4000 allows users to communicate using combinations of light
buttons or by voice. Voice communications can be directed to a single room, a
group of rooms or the entire office and is compatible with previous 15-button
Comlite systems. Also, the LCS4100 and the LAS4100 systems are designed for
offices under construction or renovation and can be installed using flush mount
wall brackets.
Over the last decade, Dentaltown has had a major impact on the way
Comlite does business. With the advent of the Internet, and more specifically
Dentaltown.com, the biggest change Comlite’s experienced has been in advertising.
Much of the company’s support has moved from print to the Internet and e-blasts.

"I think Dentaltown’s online community helped to propel this shift in where
prospects go for their information," says Comlite Systems Vice President of Sales
and Marketing John Grigsby. "It has given dental professionals an alternative to
more traditional ways of obtaining information on techniques, equipment, procedures,
etc. Townies expect their information to come electronically — which gives us
access to prospects who might not see us otherwise." |
