045: Dan Marut – The New Road To A Fee For Service Practice

Welcome to another episode of The Dentalpreneur Podcast. Joining us today is Dr. Dan Marut.
Dr. Marut is the president and founder of Quality Dental, a nationwide in-office savings plan for patients started in 2009. Dr. Marut is from New Jersey and now lives in Bend, OR. He was an undergrad at Penn State University and received his D.M.D. from Temple University. In 2002 he bought a practice in Ashland, OR. Today Dr. Marut works full time for his company Quality Dental Plans and speaks across the nation on the topic in office dental savings plans at dental industry events.
Upon beginning his practice Dr. Marut realized there was a need to get beyond cost of treatment to preserve the patient/dentist relationship and to provide patients with the best care through treatment plans that patients could afford. By understanding that “savings makes sense and fees do not” to the average patient, Dr. Marut was able to design and develop a dental savings plan that could be customized for any practice. Dan and I discuss the variety of services QDP has created for use in any dental practice and as an option for even eliminating third party insurance agreements and still maintaining a 98% patient retention rate.
