True Story…
A couple of weekends back, I attended a conference in Los Angeles, where I had the privilege and good fortune to meet Tanya Brown.
Interestingly enough, Tanya is the sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson. (You may remember the O.J. Simpson trials from the mid-90’s. How could anyone forget?)
Tanya has been an avid spokesperson against domestic violence in the name of her sister since that time.
It’s her mission, it's her passion, and it's her way to fight back for her sister and others who might be in similar circumstances.
Tanya is a very heartfelt person. I was genuinely moved by the passion with which she continues to live for her sister some 20 years after that terrible incident.
Tanya told me that she's been trying to get her message out to the world against domestic violence, but she's not been able to do so to the level she wants to make it happen.
She said to me, “David I’m tired of trying to do it alone. I need help. I need speed. I need a fast track to make this happen and get the word out. I need somebody who can help me get it done faster…”
Fortunately, she recently found a mentor and a mastermind community that's right for her and will help her get her message out much, much faster than she could ever do by herself.
Amazing!
So there’s a big lesson here.
We can try with all our might to do things on our own. We can work hard, study, and do all the right things…
… But why try to reinvent the wheel when somebody else has already been there and gained the expertise and the wisdom you can use to your advantage?
Avoiding the mistakes that others have made along the way in addition to the time and lost opportunity that those mistakes can cost us is virtually priceless.
So take a tip from Tanya Brown. Don’t try to do it alone.
Find a great mentor or coach and a community of like-minded individuals that will help you get to your freedom fast track and reach your goals much sooner than you can ever do it on your own.
