Dr. Duane Keller of Perio Protect to Speak at CDA Presents 2016 in Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif.—Perio Protect President and Chief Scientific Officer Duane C. Keller, DMD will be speaking on Friday, May 13, from 8am to 10:30am on Perio Tray usage, with a presentation to dental professionals entitled "Kill 'em Quick, Dead, and Often." The meeting will be in room 304 in the Anaheim Convention Center.

Gum disease is hard to manage because patients can’t do a good job maintaining their health at home. Toothbrush, rinse, and floss just don’t get deep enough to address the bacterial regrowth that occurs minutes after professional treatment is completed in the dental office.

The Perio Tray from Perio Protect aims to solve that problem. The sealed tray delivers oxidizing and oxygenating agents deep into periodontal pockets, and patients use it for just minutes each day. Research shows statistically significant reductions in bleeding and pocketing when prescription tray delivery is combined with scaling. About the presenter:
When Dr. Duane C. Keller discovered how well the Perio Tray delivery of medication worked with his own patients, he originally thought the antibiotics delivered in the custom trays were at least as effective as the peroxide gel he prescribed. After all, science clearly showed that antibiotics were the answer to bacterial infections. However, antibiotics placed in pockets without peroxide rarely healed as well. 

Keller studied the problem from a microbiology perspective and collaborated with leading specialists so that dental microbiology became the basis of his periodontal treatment protocols. 

Keller graduated from Washington University School of Dental Medicine and has maintained a successful private practice in St. Louis, Missouri since 1976. In addition to general dentistry, Keller works with physicians and physical therapists to provide non-surgical treatment for TMD patients in chronic pain. 

As the Chief Scientific Officer for Perio Protect and a former educational officer for the I.A.O., Keller has been lecturing to national and international audiences for over twenty years. He has published more than 35 articles in professional journals, most recently an article in Cardiovascular System, and has patented numerous dental appliances and treatment methodologies.

In 2004, the FDA cleared his Perio Tray for the placement of solutions in periodontal pockets.
