HOUSTON—Backed by rave reviews for the first two “Game Changers in Pediatric Dentistry” seminars conducted by the Institute for the Clinical Practice of Pediatric Dentistry (ICPPD), the organization predicted that its upcoming seminar will be its most successful yet.

The seminar’s CE credit hours, which have increased from 16 to 18 at no additional cost, can be applied as participation credits to either AGD PACE Mastership or ADA CERP  programs. Scheduled for October 29-30 in Las Vegas, the seminar will take place at the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine’s state-of-the art simulator teaching lab.

“We are committed to continuously improving the quality of our seminars in much the same way that the game-changing products and techniques we showcase in our seminars are proven to continuously improve our attendees’ pediatric productivity and profitability,” said ICPPD director Roger G. Sanger, DDS, MS. “Our course is a participatory, get-out-of-your-seat, roll-up-your-sleeves event that makes it easy for our attendees to quickly incorporate new game-changing materials and procedures into their practices.”

The seminar is taught by five lecturers who provide comprehensive, hands-on instruction for two tracks of dentists—one for pediatric dentists and GPs with extensive pediatric experience, and one for GPs with less pediatric experience—as well as a separate track uniquely designed for dental assistants.

According to Dr. Sanger, the timing of the “Game Changers in Pediatric Dentistry” course could not  be better given the dramatic growth in the demand for pediatric dentistry services.

“While the Affordable Care Act is not without its detractors, it’s projected to add three million children to the rolls of patients covered by dental insurance by 2018,” said Dr. Sanger. “This works out to over 400 additional children for each and every one of the country’s pediatric dentists, who obviously cannot possibly care for all of these children. The only possible solution is for these pediatric dentists, as well as the country’s general dentists, group practices and dental service organizations, to greatly expand their pediatric productivity and production. This is a terrific opportunity for these practices,  and we’re committed to helping them make the most of it.”

For the country’s pediatric and general dentists to be able to accommodate the surging need for pediatric dentistry, it will be essential for them to significantly enhance the productivity of their practices. To that end, ICPPD lecturers teach practical and efficient treatment planning and provide hands-on exposure to game-changing, time-saving products and techniques that will enhance attendees’ competence in practicing a broad range of restorative pediatric dentistry.  The result is that attending doctors and assistants will develop practical expertise that can be immediately implemented once they return to their practices.

In addition to Dr. Sanger, the ICCPD faculty includes Rhea Haugseth, DMD; Ray Stewart, DMD, MS; William (Bill) F. Waggoner DDS, MS; and Stephen Wilson, DMD, MA, PhD. Together, they represent over 200 years of pediatric dentistry experience.
