The Dawson Academy Teaching Students How to Achieve Predictable Esthetic Results Lecture Will Be Given in Boston and Orlando

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

St. Petersburg, FL – January 6, 2009 – The Dawson Academy is taking one of its main Core Curriculum lectures on the road, making it easier for students in other parts of the country to learn how to perform contemporary restorative procedures at a higher level.

Achieving Predictable Esthetic Results is a two and a half-day lecture that will be given by Peter E. Dawson, DDS, John C. Cranham, DDS and Glenn E. DuPont, DDS.  The lecture will be held March 12-14, 2009 at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf in Boston, MA.  It will also be given November 5-7, 2009 at The Peabody in Orlando, FL.

About The Lecture
Each student will leave the lecture with a clear understanding of the four options of treatment: reshaping, repositioning, restoring and surgical alternatives.  Preliminary mouth preparation, such as necessary periodontal procedures and occlusal equilibration, will be covered in detail.  Necessary soft tissue surgical procedures that will provide an ideal gingival backdrop will also be presented.  Tooth preparation for crowns and veneers will be covered as well. Soft tissue management in conjunction with final impressioning techniques will be discussed in detail.  Provisional restorations, bite registration techniques, laboratory communication and cementation/adhesive options will be a cornerstone of this presentation.  The lecture fee is $1,495 per dentist or technician, and 19 continuing education credits will be offered.  There are no prerequisites to take this lecture; it is open to general dentists, specialists and laboratory technicians.

About the Core Curriculum
The Core Curriculum teaches the fundamental principles and clinical skills that make dentistry completely predictable.  The essence of the curriculum is that the teeth are only one part of the masticatory system, and when the entire system functions in harmony, teeth are healthy and stable.  Understanding the masticatory system enables you to precisely determine the exact position and contour of anterior teeth – no guess work required.  When examined and diagnosed within the framework of the entire system, problems such as excessive tooth wear, sore teeth and masticatory muscles, and fractured restorations can all be solved.  Completion of the Core Curriculum will move you beyond being a “tooth doctor” and set you on the path of becoming a “physician of the masticatory system.”
