Impact of Occlusal Surface Finishes on Fatigue Behavior of Zirconia Plates

Posted: December 12, 2024
This study investigated the impact of different occlusal surface finishes on the fatigue behavior of partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) plates bonded to epoxy resin discs. The results showed that there was no significant difference in fatigue behavior among the groups tested, with all failures originating from the bonding surface. Silica glass infiltration and glaze application provided a smoothing effect, while the sintered group displayed surface grooves. Overall, the surface finishing method did not negatively affect the fatigue behavior of adhesively bonded PSZ plates.
