Dental Student Goes Viral for Pregnancy Predictions

Popular video sharing social networking service TikTok, otherwise known as the latest trend in shortening attention spans and increasing conceit, has a new star: a dental student who claims she can tell if a patient is expecting.

“Sure, I could just pinpoint the common traits, like increased gingivitis, but my method, is much more effective,” she said to her 14,000 followers. “I just go through their phones.”

Cosmetic Requests Rise as Pandemic Falls

Dentists are seeing a 47% increase in tooth whitening this year compared with this time last year, and the lack of masks could be a direct correlation to the newfound attention patients are paying to the white (or lack thereof) in their smiles.

One patient, who preferred to stay anonymous and avoid being tagged in unflattering social media posts, said, “My dentist was booked for weeks out, when before I could drive by his office and he’ d jump on the hood of my car, beggin’ me to come in.”

Pop-Up Ortho Shop Shut Down

Police in a small Louisiana town raided a woman’s home and found she was unlawfully practicing orthodontics, according to a press release from the St. Bernard Sheriff ’s Office, which totally missed a great branding opportunity of having the dog from Beethoven as the precinct’s social media mascot.

“It’s just brackets, glue and rubber bands,” the woman said to police, a comment some experts think was heard by every orthodontist within a three-mile radius. Meanwhile, a few local dentists who had referred patients to the woman thought her results “weren’t half bad.”

Salt Lake Doc Saves Day

A Utah dentist noticed something odd during a routine procedure when a Suburban outside his office was quickly filling with smoke. At first, the doctor dismissed what he saw as just some kids vaping like crazy— until fire started to emerge from the vents. Armed with a fire extinguisher, the doc rushed out and helped subdue the blaze.

“Sad part is, this isn’t even in the top five of crazy things I’ve done trying to get new patients in the door,” the doctor admitted. “Honestly, when I learned the family I helped preferred the corporate practice down the block, I considered stuffing them back in the smoldering heap.”
