Dental Marketing Expert and Author Launches Dental Writers Academy
Michael Ventriello, founder of Ventriello Communications and a dental industry ghostwriter, editor and published author, recently launched the Dental Writers Academy, a quarterly online mentorship program for aspiring dental writers.
For the past 15 years, Ventriello has helped some of dentistry’s most prominent key opinion leaders and industry executives launch and maintain their writing careers. With this new venture, he hopes to coach the next generation of aspiring dental writers in a virtual classroom setting using digital media.
The first session of the Dental Writers Academy began Oct. 1. The series includes ongoing, personalized e-coaching with Ventriello and a monthly virtual study club, which will feature well-known dental authors as guests. Study modules will include topics such as developing your voice and personal brand, beating writer’s block, writing for the web, promoting your articles on social media, and getting published and getting paid.
Ventriello says his intent is to have enrollees begin writing an article during the three-month session and have a finished draft shortly after graduation. He will personally edit and submit the best of these final drafts to his dental media contacts for consideration and possible publication.

Henry Schein One Releases
All-in-One Network Infrastructure Solution at CDA
Henry Schein One has released OmniCore, an all-in-one network infrastructure solution that provides essential hardware and services needed to operate dental practices’ IT needs. Offered by TechCentral, Henry Schein One’s dental office technology support and services division, OmniCore is an IT solution unique to the dental industry called “hardware as a service.”
Rather than incur the cost to purchase and support networking hardware, customers pay a monthly fee for TechCentral to provide, maintain and monitor all of the hardware packaged in OmniCore. By outsourcing OmniCore ownership and maintenance to TechCentral, dentists can eliminate common IT tasks from their responsibilities, such as replacing outdated hardware, updating software licenses, maintaining secure firewalls, backing up data and managing network solutions.
The TechCentral team of professionals will install and maintain practices’ IT infrastructure, manage dental office networks and minimize everyday concerns, such as backing up and recovering patient data and finding reliable support for critical dental network issues.

Dentsply Sirona Launches Dentistry.com
to Connect Dentists to New Patients
Dentsply Sirona has announced the launch of Dentistry.com, a platform built to connect patients to dentists. The free online community is dedicated to improving the state of dental health by increasing the number of new patients who go to a dentist and accept treatment.
Brian McCarthy, leader of the Dentistry.com project team, unveiled the platform at the Dentsply Sirona World meeting in September. The platform features a search engine that supports filtering by a number of criteria, including insurance network, which is one of the top factors in determining which dentist a patient chooses. The site also will house a comprehensive directory of dental practices across the country.
The website capitalizes on the shift of consumers making booking decisions based on consumer reviews and the ability to make an appointment online. Independent research conducted on behalf of Dentistry.com revealed that 64 percent of people find dentists through online sources; more than half of all dentists believe in a strong online presence; and dentists across the board say that acquiring new patients is one of their biggest challenges.
Over the next several months, Dentistry.com expects to roll out more features, including the ability for patients to book appointments directly from the site and teledentistry, which allows dentists and patients to connect via video for both introduction and diagnostic purposes.
