MELVILLE, N.Y.—Henry Schein and Special Olympics have extended their partnership through 2030, continuing donations of oral health and medical products for the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program.

The collaboration, which began in 2018, supports free health screenings for athletes at select Special Olympics events worldwide. Henry Schein’s donations are used in nine Healthy Athletes disciplines, including Special Smiles (dentistry), Fit Feet (podiatry), and Healthy Hearing (audiology).

Since 1997, Healthy Athletes has delivered more than two million free screenings and trained more than 300,000 healthcare professionals and students to treat people with intellectual disabilities, according to Special Olympics.

“Long-term partnerships are essential to creating lasting change in health outcomes for people with intellectual disabilities,” said Dr. Dimitri Christakis, chief health officer of Special Olympics.

The company recently donated healthcare products for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, held June 20–26 in Minneapolis, which drew about 3,000 athletes from 50 states. The donations are part of Henry Schein Cares, the company’s corporate citizenship program, which is marking its 25th anniversary this year.
