Tokyo—Mitsui Chemicals has completed its acquisition of Ultradent Products, making the Utah-based dental products company a wholly owned subsidiary. The transaction closed Aug. 14, ahead of its previously announced September timeline, following completion of required regulatory processes.

Mitsui Chemicals said the acquisition will expand its oral care business in the United States and combine the capabilities of Ultradent with those of Kulzer and other group companies.

As part of the integration, Mitsui Chemicals will transfer the global headquarters functions of its oral care business to the United States. Ultradent CEO Dirk Jeffs will also serve as CEO of the Kulzer Group, while Kulzer CEO Chris Holden will become chief strategy and integration officer of MC Dental Holdings America.

The companies plan to pursue product development, cross-selling and operational efficiencies, with Mitsui Chemicals targeting more than $40 million in annual synergies by fiscal 2030.
