Dentaltown Magazine

Change is good, change we can believe in, change, change and more change. The word "change" has been so overused in the last 12 months that I must find a suitable synonym to make this exciting announcement. "Transformation" is a fine alternative. This issue of Dentaltown Magazine contains an alteration in content that will transform your magazine.

We are pleased to welcome the content from Hygienetown Magazine to pages 73-91. This editorial addition signifies the team approach to patient care that every office strives to achieve. Dentists will find a greater understanding of the issues that hygienists face on a daily basis, and we hope this content will generate productive discussions at your monthly team meetings. If this notion seems foreign to you, then you are missing out on a great opportunity to improve your office. Most offices that suffer from internal team dissent have compartmentalized themselves so much that there are many battles of "us vs. them." You have the front office vs. back office vs. hygiene, etc...
To the hygienists, I say, welcome to our magazine. We hope you will continue to enjoy the terrific content that Hygienetown Magazine has published since 2005. If you have ever wondered what keeps you waiting for the dentist to arrive in the operatory for an exam, many of those reasons are sprinkled throughout Dentaltown Magazine. We dentists have been guilty of getting lost in our work at times, searching for the apex of a molar or putting the finishing touches on a crown prep. Hygienists, this is still your content and it will continue to come from your online community, Hygienetown.com.

Every transformation generates some feedback and this is a case where we want to hear from our readers. What do you think of the addition of this new content? Has your hygienist read Hygienetown in the past or have you facilitated a new discovery? What are your thoughts on the content location in the magazine? Are you looking for hygiene/prevention content that is specifically directed toward dentists? Did you share this magazine with your hygienist? Please send any and all feedback via e-mail to: tom@dentaltown.com.
