Al Torres “For any branding photo shoot, my job is to find out what the client wants to convey in their service or product, then capture those ideas in images,” says Al Torres, whose assignments have ranged from President George H.W. Bush’s 90th birthday to this month’s Office Visit shoot with Dr. Mitchell Mactier. Torres’ advice for dentists looking to refresh their photography: “Look for a photographer who is solid in their images, not trendy or overstylized. Someone looking for a dentist is looking for professional, classic, approachable doctors in this trustworthy profession, and their images should reflect that.”

Seena Patel “When I see a patient about an oral lesion or disorder, I diagnose the condition but also provide the treatment and follow-up, which is very rewarding,” says Dr. Seena Patel (“Name That Oral Lesion”), an orofacial pain specialist in private practice. “The only instance I don’t see the patient back is when the lesion is a malignancy, and in that case I refer them to the head and neck oncology team.” Patel is also an instructor at A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, where she works with residents and students in treating patients with orofacial pain and oral medicine conditions, and teaches the didactic oral medicine module for second-year students.
