Impress3D Announces Launch of Commercial Operations

Impress3D, a manufacturer of 3D-printed partial dentures, has announced the official launch of its commercial operations in North America.

The company’s partnership with Valplast, a flexible partial denture material, enables dentists to upload a scan of the patient’s mouth via Impress3D’s online platform or through their preferred scanner’s portal. The partial denture is then fabricated and shipped back to the office within a few days. The result is a 95% fi t rate, leading to fewer visits and better patient comfort.

Dental Professionals on Early Front Lines of COVID-19 Report Symptoms of Anxiety, Depression

The ADA and the ADHA have released the first known U.S. study to evaluate the mental well-being of frontline dentists and dental hygienists during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the association between the vaccine and mental health. The study conducted between June 2020 and June 2021 found that dental health care workers reported lower rates of anxiety and depression symptoms than the public, despite being on the front lines and providing oral health care during the pandemic.

Other key findings:

  • 17.7% of dental health care workers reported anxiety symptoms, 10.7% reported depression symptoms, and 8.3% reported symptoms of both.
  • Dental hygienists reported higher rates of depression symptoms than dentists, with depression symptom rates peaking in December 2020 and declining in 2021.
